30 Jan 2020: The Indian TV market is flooded with ultra cheap Tv which are available online. They come at dirt cheap prices with the 32 inch LED tv at 6999 and a 42 inches TV at Rs 15999.

Conclusion : These MI TV's and VUs etc are great tv and offer tremendous value for money. I will put my money on their television only if they improve their overall presence , service centres, professional technicians and maybe a service van like Samsung which even goes to the remotest village. Once that happens I'll happily buy them and recommend others . I do hope that this happens soon. Moreover, competition is good for the customers.
But have you ever wondered why there is so much price discrepancy when you compare with branded companies like LG, SONY and SAMSUNG ? But then who cares to look into the detail when you get it for so cheap ...right ? This question was eating my brain until I found the reality.
When my Sony 32 inches TV died last year i was looking to buy a new led tv. I too was looking to buy a Vu or a Mi tv since they are cheap and offer great value for money. I don't have any complain against these companies and they are great tv. Finally i decided for a Samsung 32 inch LED tv for ₹13999. I will explain why.
My reasons for not buying a cheap tv
Where these companies lack is after sales service. Everything is huky dory when the television works fine and they don't malfunction. But when it does, the real pain begins. They are new companies and most tier 2 and 3 cities do not have an authorised service centre.
Calling the customer service are mostly painful for the customers and the technician usually do not turn up on the promised schedule and mostly the service is not upto the mark.
The branded companies with their network of service personnel and service vans are a big boon to the customers. Most Indians expect their television to work atleast for 3 years and try to make full use of their hard earned money.
